The Textile Rental Industry is an $11 billion market in the US that employs over 150,000 people and runs approximately 20,000 'routes' every day. Industry specific software is a requirement for all but the smallest operations.
The textile rental industry launders numerous products, ranging from napkins to uniforms to floor mats. Industry companies provide a scheduled service, picking up dirty product and delivering clean merchandise to millions of customers across the US. Major customers include: automobile service and repair facilities; food processing companies; pharmaceutical manufacturers; hotels and restaurants, hospitals, nursing homes, doctors' and dentists' offices and clinics; retail stores and supermarkets; and a variety of other manufacturing and service companies.
Many family companies in the industry have been in operation for over a hundred years, making the textile rental industry an early example of 'outsourcing'. There are at least five distinct market segments:
• Industrial
• Linen Supply
• Healthcare
• Dust Control (Mats and Mops)
• Clean Room
